Welsh Family Wines is Dan Welsh, Wendy Davis, and our energetic twins Iris and Graeme. We moved to Portland to raise our kids and make great wine. At Welsh Family Wines we produce vineyard-specific wines that are food-friendly, expressive of varietal characteristics, and made with low-intervention winery techniques. Our goal is to create wine that is representative of the vineyard, the vintage, and the fruit. We use native yeasts, temperature-controlled fermentations, and minimal cellar interventions to create and enhance these characteristics of the varietals.
Currently, we produce Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Rose, and Chardonnay. All fruit is sourced from Willamette Valley vineyards including Bjornson Vineyard and Eola Springs Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, Armstrong Vineyard in the Ribbon Ridge AVA, and Dell’Uccello Vineyard in the Willamette Valley AVA. We hope you enjoy our wines!
Dan Welsh trained in winemaking at the Northwest Wine Academy at South Seattle Community College and has worked harvest in both Washington and Oregon. He is dedicated to sourcing grapes from responsible growers and producing wines that varietally-characteristic and a pleasure to drink.
