Amy & Jim Esper
We produce wine under our small private label, Esper Cellars. The fruit is sourced from sustainably farmed vineyard sites in the Northern Willamette Valley. More often than not, these vineyards are organically farmed by people we know and trust personally and professionally.
Our approach is a simple, neo-traditional one. We apply modern winemaking techniques to the time honored craft of low intervention, small batch winemaking. We aim to make the highest quality wine we can from the best fruit sources available in the Willamette Valley, without compromising integrity of vintage or place. Our goal is to highlight the unique character of the growing season for each site we work with in any given year. We time our picking decisions to result in wines with high natural acidity and low to moderate alcohol (12.0-13.5%). We love what we do, and feel very fortunate to live in a community that supports wines of quality over quantity.
We sell Esper direct only, and have some library selections available for purchase. We are sold out of our current release 2013 vintage, but will be releasing the 2014 Esper Pinot noir in Spring of 2016.
